How a Pet Can Make You Happy

By Tukakir Hellaos

Do you envy people who walk around as if they're so light-footed? In your workplace, do you meet individuals radiating with a positive aura that makes you curious as to the reason behind it? Conversely, if you are in a children's park, do you experience a tinge of envy when you see beaming people? Actually, you don't need to be a genius to know why they are in a blissful state. More often than not, their happy nature is due to their pet.

Yes, believe it or not, owning a pet can bring wonders to an individual's life. This premise is made more applicable with the ongoing economic crisis that everyone is facing today. With all the bad news hogging the newspaper these days, it is not so hard to go with the flow and feel glum. However, if you have a nice distraction, specifically an animal to bond with upon waking up early in the morning and after office house, you will feel much more alive and good natured.

Believe it or not, studies have proven and tested this fact after conducting numerous experiments. There are even a lot of hospitals employing this technique.

The following paragraphs spill the reasons why pets can make a person feel blissful. Read on.

First of all, pets have this uncanny ability to make their owners feel good about themselves. Most pets are actually smart and responsible which makes them such a wonderful companion. They are also not ashamed to show their affection so their owners enjoy cuddling them. Unlike other people who are not content with what you give them, pets are already happy if you have met their basic needs. Just give them their food, water, dog house, quality time at the park and regular visits to the veterinarian and they will thrive. Pets do not throw temper tantrums regularly and they don't bug you at the office through phone calls or electronic mails. They are content to wait for you until you come home.

Second, owning a pet can greatly improve your self-esteem. Of course, when you are the one in charge of somebody else's basic needs, you have to be at the top of your game. You can't afford to dilly dally when there is a shortage in their food, medications, grooming needs, hygienic materials and so on. This makes you feel like a productive individual. Being productive would raise your self-worth. Other people will definitely notice it in the way you deal with them. Don't be surprised if you hear your boss or co-workers say something nice to you. Your parents and friends will also see the change and might compliment you for it. The inner happiness you feel will simply manifest itself outside and reflect on your disposition.

Third, a pet will add new friends to your list of contacts. People are naturally social creatures but they become more affable when they see someone carrying a pet. No matter which place you will find yourself in, you will not fail to get attention. Take advantage of this to increase your social networking skills. You just have to go with the flow and talk to total strangers about what you know regarding your favorite pet.

Now, if you want to gain the benefits of having a pet, visit your neighborhood vet to get an animal that matches your personality. Surely, you will find one that will make you radiate with happiness. - 31976

Money Saving Pet Food Tips

By Skotten Edelstein

The world is currently feeling the pinch of an economic crisis. Everyone is tightening their proverbial belts in order to save money and cut costs considerably. Sadly, no one knows for how long this dreadful scenario will stop hovering over the country's financial status. This is why it is essential to be very conscious of one's spending habits in order to maximize your purchasing power.

The news of big firms in Wall Street filing for bankruptcy and financial bailout packages doesn't help calm the mind of ordinary consumers. In fact, it adds fuel to the fire because it will result to lower economic growth and higher inflation rate. This is terrible news to those who are already in deep debt. This grim scenario which hovers over the country like a dark cloud is very scary to all concerned.

Even pet owners are not spared from this problem. Though expenses for pets are not as exorbitant as those for human being, that is still not a reason to be complacent and spend wads of cash like there is no tomorrow. It pays to be a money-conscious individual in order for you to be always on the lookout on ways to set aside some precious bucks. Here is a list of ways to save money on pet food. May this be a perfect solution to your pet-related fiscal woes. Read on.

Primarily, you can slash your expenses by purchasing pet food in bulk. You may be curious as to how this is possible. Well, if you were to buy a huge sack weighing seven kilos instead of seven small ones, then it means that less money was spent manufacturing the package. The pet food firm has saved quite an amount, if this is the case. Therefore, the savings they have made will then be passed on to the unwavering consumers.

Another way to save is to buy pet food online. It is common knowledge that the online marketplace is just as good, if not better, than the real world. In the internet, you have a variety of choices that will fit your discriminating needs. Most sites offer a wide array of pet food products, from the cheapest to the most expensive, depending on the quality. Here, you can easily compare a lot of factors. After you have made a decision, you can easily purchase a product and pay for it using your credit card or PayPal account. In a matter of days, your order will be delivered right at your doorstep.

Ask your veterinarian. More often than not, he can give you a big discount if you are always buying pet food from him. You may also check out for promotional packages that would include buy one take one options or free perks.

Scan the newspapers and magazines for food coupons. Advertisers usually use it as bait for potential consumers so they place it in this medium. Others prefer handing out the coupons in malls, streets or bazaars wherein a lot of people converge for a quick orientation.

Lastly, you must curtail if not avoid, treats. They can be quite demanding to the pocket if done in a habitual manner. If you must give a nice incentive, make sure that your pet has done something exceptional or astonishing to deserve it. This way, he will learn how to behave better. - 31976

Dog Information For Concerned Dog Owners

By Geraldine Dimarco

How important do you think it is to keep your dog healthy, as opposed to keeping your dog happy? Are the two mutually exclusive? I'm sure they're not. Keeping your dog in peak health is bound to affect his general happiness and wellbeing. But on the other hand, ensuring your dog's health does not necessarily mean he will be happy. To be happy, dogs need to spend time with their owners.

A number of canine owners are particularly close to their animals. However, many of those same people do not pay attention to the ingredients of the food they give their companion animals. Poor food can shorten a life span and cause frequent health issues that are difficult to diagnose.

A number of people will turn to professionals for dog information. Sometimes, the first suggestion will be supplements or pharmaceuticals. However, this may be unnecessary. If you have been feeding your pet grocery store brands, all you may need to do is switch to a premium food. The results will be quickly apparent.

Many dog foods contain the scraps and waste left from food processors. It doesn't sound very appetizing, and is not considered the healthiest type of food. There are alternatives for those dog owners that are seeking dog information regarding a healthy diet. One option is to make your own dog food. You can use the foods you prepare for yourself and your family. Simply cool the food to room temperature in the refrigerator before feeding it to your pet.

Unfortunately, this is not the simplest of solution. First off, the nutrition needs of our canine friends are quite different from ours. Unless you have a good encyclopedia of dog information at hand, it is easy to miss something. Further, purchasing and preparing special food from scratch can be costly and time intensive.

A better option would be to find a dog food that contains only human-grade, natural ingredients. Flint River Ranch offers pet food that is prepared under controlled conditions, resulting in a food that is easily digested, and has a high degree of absorption of vital vitamins and minerals. Flint River Ranch dog food is a premium quality pet food that your dog will love.

Some vets will recommend vitamin supplements or medications, but all that is required is to change your dog's diet as when your dog starts eating healthier, you may see improvements in its overall health.

If you want a healthier dog, and are trying to improve your dog's energy level and appearance, you should try flint river ranch dog food. Or, you could opt to make your own dog food. This can be done using the same foods you prepare for yourself and your family. For dog information, most people turn to veterinarians. - 31976

How to Make Home Made Dog Food

2. Research about food in relation to canines. There are a lot of food that are dangerous when ingested by animals?many of which are found right under our noses. High Quality, Nutritious, Healthy Dog Food - Critical for a Healthy Pet

By Scott Hubbard

High Quality, Nutritious, Healthy Dog Food is the Key to Your Dog's Long Term Good Health

Did you know that dog food you buy in a grocery store or pet supermarket is probably very low in nutritional value? Even if the food was somewhat nutritious when it was placed in the bag, that nutrition has deteriorated because the food is several months old by the time you purchase it at the store. So when you buy dog food in a store, you may be slowly killing your dog.

Think about human nutrition. If we feed ourselves unhealthy food over a period of years, our bodies will begin to deteriorate. We suffer from a higher incidence of degenerative diseases.

You can say the same thing about our dogs. A poor diet will result in a higher incidence of disease and a gradual deterioration of their bodies.

Why do you think that so many of our dogs are dying from kidney failure, cancer, heart failure, and other degenerative diseases? These diseases in our pets were almost non-existent before the advent of commercial dog food.

I think you will agree with me. You and I want our pets to live long, healthy, and happy lives. They are so full of unconditional love. They are completely dependent on us to provide them with good nutrition. I owe that to him.

The picture of me and my dog, Romeo, is on a lot of the articles I write. He is 6 years old and just a mutt. He has been fed high quality, nutritious, healthy dog food ever since he was a little over one year old. I know I am biased, but he is the sweetest, healthiest, and happiest dog we have ever owned.

I made a statement in the first paragraph, "you may be slowly killing your dog" if you're not feeding high quality, nutritious, healthy dog food. I know that's a strong statement. Many people feel that way. Read the article "What's Really in Pet Food," published by the Animal Protection Institute. This article includes some very startling information.

As stated in this article, dog food many times contains food "unfit for human consumption."

The article discusses both meats and grains. You're probably like me. I don't want to feed a dog food that is unfit for human consumption.

Here's something to keep in mind. You can't rely on the ingredient label or the wording on the package to make your dog food selection. Just because the package describes the food as "high quality" or "premium," doesn't mean that it is a quality, nutritious, healthy dog food.

Even when a company puts out a dog food product that is somewhat nutritious, it is probably 6-18 months old by the time it is sold in a grocery store or pet supermarket.

The store owner or employee may tell you that the food is very fresh. But chances are that person doesn't know how long the bag of food has been stored in one or more warehouses before being shipped to the store. The owner just has no control over that.

A pet supermarket may or may not sell its dog food fairly soon after it is received. But they don't know how long it has remained in a warehouse before shipment to the retailer. As it ages, the food and its nutritional content deteriorate because of mold, bacteria, heat, and other reasons.

Another major factor in determining a good dog food is the cooking method. It is best that the food is cooked at a low temperature and for a short period of time. If you find a food that that claims it is high in nutrition but is cooked at a high temperature or for a long period of time, most of the nutrition has been destroyed.

I suggest that you consider the following 4 factors in selecting a high quality, nutritious, healthy dog food:

1. The food should contain a high percentage of meat. Completely disregard any product that includes by-products.

2. Make sure that the food is cooked at a low temperature and for a short period of time.

For example, water is removed from the chicken to form chicken meal. So if you see "chicken meal" as the first item on the ingredient label, you know that there is a lot of chicken in the product. If "chicken" is listed as one of the top ingredients, it may be much lower on the list of ingredients when the water is removed. The manufacturer may be trying to mislead the consumer to think that chicken is one of the top ingredients.

2. Make sure that the food is very fresh. I have found that the best and freshest dog food comes from an online source that delivers a very fresh, nutritious, healthy dog food to your doorstep.

3. Check out the cooking methods. The food should not be cooked at a high temperature or for a long period of time.

Chicken meal is chicken with the water removed. So chicken meal can be a higher quality ingredient than just chicken. You know that there is a lot of chicken in the food if chicken meal is listed as the first ingredient. If chicken is listed as the top ingredient, it may be much lower when the water is removed.

Feeding your dog high quality, nutritious, healthy dog food will enable your pet to have a healthy, happy, and longer life. I personally feel that I owe that much to my little guy. - 31976
