8 Dog Owner Secrets Revealed

By Jenash Muldavi

1. Don't yell and shout at your puppy. Remember that a puppy is just a baby and that any major disturbances can have a major impact on its mental state. Extensive shouting can leave the dog feeling inferior and unloved.

2. Just like human beings it is truly important to not give your dog any more food than it requires. Extra calories will end up as fat and when your dog gains fat it will also slowly loose its vitality and energy only to end up like a sleeping dog torso.

3. Food for people is not dog food. Do not feed your dog food from the dinner table. Ask your VET what is recommended for the specific breed as every breed might require different things for optimal nutritional intake.

4. Walking your dog on a daily basis is vitally important to satisfy the basic physical needs of your dog. Smaller dogs will need shorter walks and larger breeds and most above average size breeds will even need more walks per day.

5. Playing with your dog is not only important to the physique of the dog but it is also an important learning and training tool that will make your dog behave better and your dog and owner relationship will also improve.

6. Attend dog training classes to learn how to properly manage, train and get your dog obey commands. A dog needs to know who is in charge and it is important that you are that leader.

7. Love your dog. It might seem obvious but just like humans a dog needs to know that it is loved. You can express your love with words and physical gestures. Make it a daily habit to show your dog that you love it dearly.

8. Treat your dog with respect and it will in return respect you back. Even though a dog might not be at the level of intelligence that humans are it is still a highly sophisticated being that should not be taken lightly. - 31976
